Rhythm, in particular swing, is a fundamental component making up the musical endeavor we call Jazz. While there are plenty of examples of jazz that do not technically swing, for example bossa nova, the notion of swing, that is the cool, backbeat heavy, groove remains closely identified with jazz in any idiom. In this hour, we will dig some classic grooves that swing, triplets and all, and no end in site.
