Although often thought of as the jazz vehicle of choice until the close of WWII, the big band remains an important part of jazz. Although economics make it challenging for such ensembles to tour, they remain a driving force of jazz exploration in the studio and film soundtracks. In this hour, we will dig some of the swingin' sounds of larger ensembles making their imprint after the end of the "Big Band era".
